You can't help but love 'em. Rattly, slightly smelly, but much nicer than a sterile Sprinter or similar.

 | 19th Aug 2003 | 08. Class 37
Favourites amongst many, these veterans have provided sterling service on the main line, as many still do, and some have earned a less arduous retirement in preservation.

 | 8th Feb 2007 | A cold day at the Cold War Museum
8th February 2007: Alf and I went to RAF Cosford for the opening of the Cold War Museum. Numbers were kept down due to snow, but that made it easier to look round! A good museum, which deserves a return visit.

 | 19th Mar 2008 | Aviation Photos
At present, only pictures from Manchester International (Ringway). Possibly more to come, even though I don't know what most planes are, I enjoy the photography more than the contemporary railway scene.

Stunning trains these, high speed, high comfort, and very stylish. Even much newer trains can't come close to these in terms of quality.

"You'd light me a candle to show me the way
Let your rational reasoning teach me my role
What price your scandal when my dead man's handle
Takes over the train on instinctive control"
Somehow even the dullest of subjects come to life when a long exposure is needed...

I'm a bit of a dabbler when it come to modelling. Interests include German HO, sectorisation era NSE area 00, transition era Cheshire Lines area 00, and 0 gauge hydraulics.

Trainspotting is a natural state of humanity. However, there weren't always diesels around and folks had to make do with these things. Some even went as far as preserving them...
